Check-In

Upon your arrival I will personally greet you and give you a quick tour of the property, explain the basics of the house, give you a safety briefing and answer any questions you may have; for those of you arriving later in the day I will let you in and swing by the next morning for your orientation (this will usually score you a dozen donuts).

Given the arrival times of incoming flight times into Tucson from the major hubs, I try to accommodate early check-in as much as I can. Please be aware that the house is extremely large and, given the current Covid-19 pandemic, the cleaning requirements are quite extensive. Please check in with me prior to arrival to see if early check-in is available.

Once inside you will find:

  • Garage Door Opener. While the double garage is an owner space (which is a fancy way of saying that all of my stuff is packed in there), you have full access to the single garage. Please be aware that the garage is a side-loading garage...you are responsible for any damage to the garage door and/or garage frame.

  • Coffee. We are not savages...there will be a selection of Keurig k-cups, regular coffee and what Beth has described as "The Best Thing Ever" (sadly, not me) in the form of a Breville Espresso Machine. Apparently, the thing churns out java that is better than what you get at Starbucks.

  • Cleaning Supplies. A wide variety of cleaning supplies will be located either under the kitchen sink, in the pantry or in the laundry room, including laundry detergent, bleach, garbage and trash compactor bags. In case of accidents, there is a vacuum and rug cleaner in the closet to the left of the computer workstation. There is also a toilet plunger in the garage next to the water softener (if used, please return it to the garage).

  • Firewood. There will be firewood in the Great Room fireplace and the wood burning firepit, enough for one fire. You will need to purchase your own firewood after that. Please do not use the firewood located in the pool equipment area...it is green and will not burn.

  • Propane. In the colder months, all of the propane tanks for the firepits will be filled prior to your arrival.

  • Wood Pellets. The Traeger Grill's wood-pellet hopper is filled with a blend mixture prior to the arrival of each guest.

  • Pool Key. The key to the community pool and tennis/pickleball courts will be hanging from the key rack in the hallway leading to the garage.

  • Spices/Condiments.. Located in the refrigerator and pantry will be the usual assortment of spices, condiments and cooking oils needed to cook most meals, so if you will be food shopping to kill time before your check-in you may consider skipping these items.

  • Pool Heater. If you are planning on having the pool heated during your stay and you would like the pool at temperature upon your arrival, please let me know 24 hours in advance. There is an additional cost to heating the pool.
